Sohar International Signs MoU with Lahunna Oman to Empower Women Entrepreneurs
Sohar International has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lahunna Oman to support the growth and sustainability of women-owned small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across the Sultanate. The strategic agreement was formally executed by Dr. Mazin Mahmood Al Raisi, Chief Marketing Officer at Sohar International, and Shatha Salim Al Maskiry, Founder of Lahunna Oman. This alliance establishes a cooperative framework aimed at providing Omani female business leaders with the practical skills, technical knowledge, and strategic capabilities necessary to expand their commercial ventures.
Supporting the Siraj SME Mentorship Program as Main Partner
Under the terms of the MoU, Sohar International will join the initiative as the Main Partner for Lahunna Oman’s Siraj SME Mentorship Program. Designed specifically for established, women-led Omani enterprises, the structured 22-week initiative offers tailored business development resources. Participating business owners receive targeted support intended to help transition their operations from early-stage management to sustainable, long-term commercial growth.
Strengthening Financial Literacy and Executive Capability
The Siraj SME Mentorship Program focuses on improving core operational competencies among women founders, with a heavy emphasis on advanced financial literacy. Participants engage in hands-on workshops, cash-flow management training, and executive decision-making seminars. By pairing entrepreneurs with seasoned industry leaders, the curriculum helps business owners navigate corporate governance, optimize capital allocation, and build resilient corporate structures.
Expanding Market Reach and Access to Business Networks
Beyond operational training, the partnership connects women entrepreneurs to key commercial ecosystems and market opportunities. The initiative offers participants access to corporate networks, prospective investors, and supply chain partners across Oman. Facilitating direct market access helps female founders scale their products and services, secure funding, and compete effectively within both domestic and regional markets.
Advancing Economic Diversity in Line with Oman Vision 2040
Ultimately, Sohar International’s partnership with Lahunna Oman reinforces national efforts to foster inclusive economic development and nurture local talent. By empowering women-owned SMEs, the collaboration directly supports the strategic diversification goals outlined in Oman Vision 2040. Investing in female entrepreneurship builds a dynamic private sector, generates sustainable job growth, and reinforces Oman’s position as a supportive hub for small business innovation.
