Oman Air has officially launched its first direct flights to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, and Singapore as part of its strategic expansion plans. The national carrier’s new routes are engineered to meet rising passenger demand, enhance global connectivity, and boost international tourism, trade, and investment between the Sultanate and key markets in Central and Southeast Asia. The structural network expansion aligns with the airline's broader strategy to establish Muscat as a central, highly accessible transit hub for global travelers.
The newly inaugurated Muscat–Tashkent route will operate with a schedule of two flights per week, a frequency driven by high existing travel demand for Central Asian destinations. Wafa bint Jabr al Busaidi, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Uzbekistan, highlighted that the direct connection answers a growing desire among travelers to explore the region's deep historical, cultural, and tourism attractions. Simultaneously, the route offers streamlined access for business professionals and investors looking to strengthen commercial bilateral ties between the two nations.
Concurrently, Oman Air celebrated the official launch of its highly anticipated Muscat–Singapore route, which will run as a year-round service operating four flights weekly. By establishing a permanent direct link to one of Southeast Asia's primary financial and logistical mega-hubs, Oman Air is positioning itself to capture a significant share of premium business and leisure traffic. Ultimately, the double route launch marks a major milestone in the airline's post-restructuring growth phase, ensuring its network remains fiercely competitive while actively advancing the economic diversification goals of Oman Vision 2040.
