Tech Oman Founder and President, Tariq Hilal Al Barwani, officially inaugurated STEM Week 2026 at Ellesmere Muscat International School, marking the start of a week dedicated to innovation, creativity, and future-focused learning.

Held from April 5 to April 9, the opening ceremony brought together students, faculty, and guests to celebrate the intersection of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The program began with formal proceedings, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and opening remarks by the school leadership.

As the guest of honor, Tariq Al Barwani delivered a 15-minute keynote emphasizing the importance of shifting from technology consumption to technology creation. He encouraged students to move beyond passive use of digital tools and instead become builders, problem-solvers, and innovators who contribute to shaping the future.

His address highlighted the growing opportunities within the tech ecosystem and reinforced the role of young minds in driving meaningful change through innovation and entrepreneurship. The session resonated strongly with students, aligning with Tech Oman’s broader mission of empowering the next generation of tech leaders in the Sultanate.
Following the keynote, the school honored the guest speaker with a commemorative plaque before commencing guided exhibition visits, where students showcased their projects and ideas across various STEM disciplines.
