Amazon.com has officially expanded access to its healthcare AI assistant, making it available to all customers via its website and mobile app as of March 10, 2026. Originally launched in January as an exclusive feature for One Medical members, the free tool is now accessible to the general public regardless of Prime or One Medical membership status. The assistant is designed to streamline care for over 30 common conditions such as diabetes, sleep apnea, and acne by explaining lab results, answering questions about medications, and conducting virtual symptom assessments.
While the AI handles the logistical and informational friction of healthcare, Amazon emphasizes that it does not independently create treatment plans. Instead, it acts as a digital triage system where it seamlessly connects the patient with a human healthcare provider if a condition is complex or requires a formal prescription. For users who are not One Medical members, these virtual provider consultations cost $29 per visit, though some Prime members may be eligible for introductory offers that include a limited number of free messaging consultations.
This rollout marks a significant step in Amazon’s strategy to integrate retail data with clinical wellness. Customers can opt to grant the assistant permission to access their medical records and lab notes, and the AI can even analyze past Amazon purchases like vitamins or blood pressure monitors to offer more personalized follow-up guidance. By positioning the assistant as a 24/7 digital front door, Amazon aims to reduce the time patients and providers spend on administrative tasks, shifting the focus toward more meaningful medical care.
