Oman tightens rules on drone sale and registration

Oman is tightening the rules on drones to keep the skies safe and secure. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) just issued a new circular that changes how these aircraft are bought and sold across the Sultanate.

From now on, any shop selling drones must have a valid license and follow a strict digital registration process. Instead of just handing over a drone at the counter, sellers now have to register the aircraft through the AirPortal platform and officially transfer ownership to the buyer using the "Serb" app before the customer even leaves the store.

According to the CAA’s notice from February 17, these steps are all about making sure everyone plays by the rules and that public safety isn't compromised as more drones take to the air.
